TASK
to create 3D world using the works of the Lithuanian artist Mikalojus Čiurlionis to interpret the sense of his works and to lead the audience along various plot lines.
DIRECTING SOLUTION
Kristina Buozyte’s directorial solution was expressed in the original idea. Starting the journey as a person, the viewer soon realizes that he or she is an angel who contemplates the states of life, death and merging with the universe.
VISUAL SOLUTION
Each scene was based on the artist’s paintings that were woven into a single plot with the change of day and night, which gave a more complete immersion in the project. Due to the fact that the high-quality images of M. Čiurlionis’s paintings were used as a source, we were able to preserve the maximum consistency of color and texture.
Created: the storylines for four locations with the total timing more than 21 minutes, visual concepts. Each video part was created and finished on the base of Mikalojus Čiurlionis artworks thus achieving the project authenticity. As a result four 6-minute cinematic locations were created.
The project became an addition to the exposition at the National Art Museum named after M. Čiurlionis. The Čiurlionis Museum has already achieved notable success, as it was chosen for the Virtual Reality program of the 75th Venice International Film Festival.
